Product Description

Overview

Our Biodynamic garden consulting services enable your food growing and pasture/forest areas to have a vibrant soil life, creating healthy plants, animals and human beings.

Biodynamic farming and gardening methods commenced in 1924 with the Agriculture lectures by Rudolf Steiner and have spread globally as a well recognised stream of organic food growing, land management and regenerative agriculture.

How we work

Our biodynamic gardening consulting service includes land, soil and plant assessment with advice on staged application of biodynamic methods for pasture, soil, plant improvement and management. We orient this service to growers who are establishing or seeking to improve existing organic growing methods. We also include infrastructure design, crop planning and progressive implementation of processes to greatly reduce the impact of pests and diseases on your crops.

We work on a project basis with a quote provided after initial scoping and creation of a Biodynamic Development Plan. Such a service would be followed by regular or adhoc support and education on an hourly rate basis depending on the nature of the project.

We most often work with clients on a face-to-face basis in the South East Queensland area. At times we combine this with video online support via zoom area, whatsapp or facebook messenger. We also work with clients remotely in other parts of Australia and internationally.

Our biodynamic garden consulting service would be used larger projects locally, nationally and internationally. In addition, for coaching clients we can also work on an adhoc consulting. Our consulting services are normally charged at $150 per hour.

Who we work with

Our clients are: urban gardeners and farmers, off-grid and self sufficiency gardeners, schools, hobby farmers, smaller scale commercial scale farmers and community farms.

Our biodynamic gardening coach

Our biodynamic garden adviser/coach is Peter Kearney. He has worked with biodynamic methods to enhance organic processes in his acreage food growing spaces and pasture since 1996. Peter realises from his own agricultural and gardening experience that biodynamic methods are the catalyst for the diverse factors creating vibrancy, beauty and function in his food growing spaces.

Peter commenced growing food as a child and has continued this through his life. My Food Garden has operated for 20 years working with individuals, groups and organisations advising on organic and biodynamic food growing and local food systems. Peter has engaged in his study of biodynamic farming and gardening through study groups of Rudolf Steiner’s Agriculture lectures, attendance and participation as a presenter at national and international biodynamic conferences, time spent with biodynamic farmers and completing training courses in Goethean Science (a foundation of Steiner’s work) and his training as a certified Biodynamic adviser.

Peter’s contribution to the biodynamic community extends from his garden to his local community, nationally as a director of Biodynamic Agriculture Australia Ltd (BAA), the peak body for the biodynamic movement in Australia, and internationally as the Australian delegate Biodynamic Federation Demeter International.
